지난주 6월 22일 빌보드 차트에서 아시아 역사상으로는 처음으로 방탄소년단의 '버터(Butter)'가 빌보드 '핫 100'에서 4주 연속 1위를 차지했었는데요. 아시아 가수의 역사상 첫 기록이었습니다. 62년 전통의 '핫 100'에서 5주 연속 1위를 차지할지 귀추가 주목되고 있습니다. 지금까지 곡을 발매 즉시 1위에 등극한 노래는 방탄소년단의 '버터'를 포함해 총 54곡뿐이었는데요. 그중에서도 1위를 4주 이상 차지한 곡은 13곡밖에 없었습니다. 중요한 사실은 그룹으로서는 유일하다는 것입니다.

현재 음원의 판매량이 엄청납니다. 게다가 미국 라디오 방송의 스트리밍 횟수도 점점 늘어났기 때문에 인기가 더욱 커졌을 것으로 예상되고 있습니다. 5주 연속 1위를 바라보고 있는 지금도 그 가능성도 점점 높게 점쳐지고 있습니다. 팬클럽 아미의 충성도가 어마어마한 것이 큰 힘이 되고 있습니다.

그동안 빌보드에 진입한 후로 계속해서 신기록을 작성해오고 있었죠. 따라서 5주 연속 1위를 하게 된다면 또 하나의 기록을 세우게 되면 BTS의 가치는 더욱 커지게 될 것으로 보입니다. 아시아, 특히 한국 가수로서 명실상부한 레전드가 될 수 있을 것으로 보이네요. ^^
신곡 '버터'가 지난주 빌보드 '핫 100'에서 4주 연속 1위를 차지함으로써 이미 1963년 일본의 사카모토 큐 '3주 연속 1위’ 넘어서는 아시아 최초의 기록이 됐었는데요. 5주 연속이 가능하다면 누구도 쉽게 넘볼 수 없는 기록이 되겠습니다.

요즘 빌보드 차트에서 1위를 유지하는 것은 너무나 힘든 일이 되고 있지요. 올 해의 경우도 방탄소년단의 '버터'를 포함해 올해 '핫 100'에서 4주 연속으로 1위에 등극한 곡은 단지 2곡에 불과합니다. 그래서 개인적으로도 5주 연속 1위가 간절합니다. ㅜㅜ 그러다 보니7월 9일 CD 발마가 좀 더 앞당겨졌다면 하는 아쉬움이 커지기도 합니다.
